I took this picture at John's Cove near Yarmouth Nova Scotia in July 2013 during a family vacation back home. This is one of my favourite places to photograph in Nova Scotia. The Cove is surrounded on both sides by water. On this particular night I was driving back to the cottage that we were staying when I noticed how calm the Cove was and I knew instantly I had to make an image. The fishing boats were all tied up at the wharf. There was some activity on a few of boats (I.e. Preparing for an early morning departure). In order to make the starburst coming from the lights I closed down the aperture. I love the reflection of the lights on the water and the absolute stillness of the cove. The resulting image makes a perfect gift for a loved one or treat yourself and proudly hang it in your home. The image can be purchased as a print, canvas, metal, throw pillow or even as a greeting card. I hope you enjoy.
